The Lost Boys, the new TV reboot

Move aside Edward and Bella Cullen, you too Vampire Academy some real vampires are coming back. What was once contemplation and rumors in 2016 is now put to rest. The CW network has confirmed the '80s cult vampire film The Lost Boys pilot has been ordered.
iZombie creator Rob Thomas was originally going to be the showrunner, writer and executive producer when it was originally pitched in 2016, Thomas will still be the executive producer. The script of the pilot was written by Heather Mitchell, who wrote for Scandal. Catherine Hardwicke will be directing the pilot, she has worked in the vampire genre before she directed Twilight.
The initial report from Deadline describes the synopsis of the pilot and which roles have been filled. The synopsis goes as such Lucy Emerson and her two sons Micheal and Sam move to Santa Carla, California after the sudden death of her husband. Shortly after moving there Micheal is drawn to the seductive youthful undead. While Sam befriends the local vampire hunters who run a comic book shop. Not too far from the movie itself but let's see what Thomas, Mitchell, and Hardwicke can do along with the new cast.
The main cast for the family will include Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) playing Micheal Emerson, Rio Mangini (Everything Sucks!) will play Sam Emerson, the mother Lucy is Kiele Sanchez (Lost), and the grandfather is Del Zamora (Mayans MC). Instead of the Frog Brothers, we now have the Frog Sisters played by Cheyenne Haynes (Camping) and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs). As for our main vampires, Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone) who will play Mollie, Medalion Rahimi (Still Star-Crossed) will play Stella and our teenage rebel David will be played by Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom).
While I would love to have a new Halloween show in October this year, it could be coming out closer to 2020. When new updates come I'll let you know!
